My name is Juniper Stowe and I am 12 years of age. I live in district eleven, which is known for agriculture. Endless acres of orchards and fields of cotton and grain make up district eleven. Most of the crops we harvest are sent directly to the Capitol, and almost everyone here is poor due to little pay. The Capitol pays little attention to us, unless they are making sure that they get the correct amount of goods. There are always guards overseeing us to make sure that everyone in the field is doing their share of work. If someone is caught doing something wrong, there will be punishment, which is sometimes severe depending on the incident. I am an only child and I live with my mother, who works all day in the fields and is a laundress in the evening for the neighbors to earn extra money and also home-schools me to the best of her ability at night. I am often alone after working in the orchards all day and doing my school work. My main interests are music and art. I love to sing, especially as I am working in the fields all day long. I also enjoy painting scenery. After working so long in the orchards since I was six years of age, I am quite strong and I am in charge of climbing the trees to harvest the fruit since I am small and nimble. I also have a good strength in logic, which comes in handy. Thanks for reading this!
